About the Race

SFAC 5K is Ishan Gala Foundation’s signature event that really kicked off fundraising for IGF in 2009. Before the event became a 5K in 2015, the event was an evening pool party full of fun, food, and community. The event always takes place in August to honor Ishan’s Birthday (August 28th) and is water themed because the pool was his favorite place to be. Splash is a chance to celebrate Ishan's life but also show those in the fight now, that they are not alone.

This years event will be a little different but just as FUN!

After the race, participants can enjoy snacks, learn more about IGF while waiting for the awards ceremony. We will be honoring our young warriors who have passed away and those fighting.

We will be at a *NEW* location, Darden Towe Park, and the course will mostly be on the trial along the river for a beautiful scenic run or walk!

You may be wondering....

Don't worry...

Our friends at the East Rivanna Volunteer Fire Department have you covered and will be spraying water over the finish line for a nice cool down
